Community Groups:. About Community GroupsFor many people, church is a weekly event, somewhat unrelated to real life. Or it's the building where folks gather to engage in religous activities--with a BIG GROUP of others they don't exactly know that well. Guess what? This is not the description of church found in the Bible. Rather than a large, once-a-week meeting of mere acquaintances, the New Testament repeatedly shows smaller groups of Christians living in community. This is why we make such a fuss about community groups at CCC. During Sunday services, our community is more public and more formal. All the chairs face forward. One or two people do all the speaking. Contrast that with the more personal and relaxed community found in a good small group setting. We turn our chairs toward each other. We talk honestly about God and life. We encourage on eanother. We pray for each other. If you're wanting a deeper sense of connection, longing for spiritual transformation, and hungering to partner with a few others and have eternal impact, let us point you to one of our community groups. |
